Horizon Europe STAR4BBS project kicks off

STAR4BSS has started. On the 13th and 14th of September 2022, the Consortium met in Berlin for the Kick-off meeting of the new Horizon Europe project. Hosted by TUB (STAR4BBS coordinator), the event was the occasion to finally meet all the participants coming from all the seven European countries represented (German, Italy, Spain, Greece, Netherlands, Switzerland and United Kingdom). The physical Kick-off meeting was preceded by a virtual kick-off meeting which was held on the 1st of September, during which partners wrote down the work plan for the first months of the project.

The overall aim of STAR4BBS is to maximize the potential of Sustainability Certification Schemes (SCS) and labels to support a successful transition to sustainable bio-based economy. Besides the development of suitable indicators, the project will focus on the creation of a new monitoring system for assessing the effectiveness and robustness of existing international and EU SCS, B2B labels, and related traceability systems, applicable to biological feedstock and bio-based materials and products.

Joint Kick-off meeting with sisters’ projects

On the 16th of June 2022, a Joint KOM with the other two projects (HARMONITOR and SUSTCERT4BIOBASED) funded under the same call of STAR4BBS (ZEROPOLLUTION-01-07: International and EU sustainability certification schemes for bio-based systems) was held to define joint strategies and activities to be implemented during the life time of different projects. Aim of these collaboration is the aim to exchange information and expertise, cross-fertilise and increase the collective impacts of the projects’ results. In the meantime, another project joint this “sisterhood”, SUSTRACK.
