On June 8th STAR4BBS took part in an event organized in collaboration with the sister projects SUSTCERT4BIOBASED and Harmonitor called “Sustainability certification of bio-based products Conference”. In the frame of the EUBCE (31st European Biomass Conference & Exhibition) which took place in Bologna from 5 to 9 June, the coordinators and partners of the three projects had the opportunity to discuss the progress of their respective projects and make their work known to a wide audience of specialized stakeholders. During the event, which took place in hybrid form, posters of the three projects were exhibited with the aim of making known the objectives and the state of the work.
The first phase of the conference involved three representatives in order to present the projects. Our coordinator Luana Ladu took the floor for STAR4BBS. Then there was a presentation session of the Joint Monitoring System, an objective that the three projects set themselves to achieve jointly. Finally, the event ended with a Roundtable discussing the role of CSLs as a co-regulation instrument attended by several experts from the world of sustainability certification and labels.
The conference, perfectly integrated in the context of the EUECB was a success for the participation of many stakeholders who have had the opportunity to exchange ideas and good practices that will certainly be important in the implementation of the future work of STAR4BBS and sisters projects.
